“When women and girls are viewed not just as recipients of support but as decision-makers, leaders, and problem-solvers, it forces a different kind of accountability.”
We’re delighted to share an interview with The Beam’s Co-Founder, Michelle Yue — “From wealth to agency: How women can fund a more just future” — in conversation with Acumen, a global community of entrepreneurs, investors, philanthropists, and social innovators working to break the cycle of poverty.
Michelle’s reflections are rooted in her personal experiences. From a childhood where helping others was simply part of life, to a trip to Thailand that crystallised her life’s work, to founding The Beam Network after finding that an education platform and community supporting women of significant wealth to be more active, empowered stewards didn't yet exist. This conversation traces the through-line between lived experience and intentional action, and why women’s agency in finance isn’t optional, it’s fundamental to building a more just future.
Thank you to Acumen for this rich and inspiring collaboration.
